What Year Did Land Cruiser Stop Making The Solid Front Axle?

In the United States, the Toyota Land Cruiser transitioned from a solid front axle to an independent front suspension (IFS) starting with the 2008 model year Land Cruiser 200 Series. This means that the last Land Cruiser model in the U.S. to have a solid front axle was the 2007 Land Cruiser 100 Series.

The change to an independent front suspension was made to improve on-road comfort and handling while still retaining the Land Cruiser’s off-road capability. The Land Cruiser 200 Series continued to be a rugged and capable SUV, albeit with a different front suspension design. In some other regions and markets, Toyota continued to offer Land Cruiser models with solid front axles, such as the Land Cruiser 70 Series.
