About the Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser
The FJ40 was produced from 1960 to 1984, and continued rolling off the line in Brazil all the way through 2001. It was even Toyota’s top-selling model in the United States from 1961 to 1965, though admittedly it had little competition, as it was the only Toyota available in the U.S. market during those years.
Built on a rugged ladder frame with solid axles front and rear, the FJ40 earned its reputation as one of the toughest and most capable off-road vehicles ever made. Paired with a modern automatic transmission, the 5.3 gives the FJ40 the power, reliability, and fuel efficiency today’s drivers want without sacrificing the character of the truck. We handle the full conversion in-house, including engine, transmission, cooling, wiring, and exhaust.
Do you work with out-of-state customers?
Yes, we work with clients all over the country. We coordinate transport to and from our Belle Plaine, Kansas shop, and offer free delivery on completed builds.
Do I need to bring my own FJ40, or can you source one?
Either works. Many clients bring us their own FJ40 to restore. Others ask us to help find a suitable donor truck. We’re happy to do either.
