1987 FJ62 Toyota Land Cruiser V8 Conversion
Welcome the Land Cruiser Restorations. Here we have a 1987 Toyota Land Cruiser. They actually didn’t technically produce these until ’88, so this has been one of the first production years.
It’s done in the gray metallic; came to us by way of a previous client that decided he was going to upgrade it.
We already did the body and paint previously. So we’ve installed a Chevy 53 Vortec, made it 6L80E automatic GM transmission, all new springs and shackles, and Old Man Emu.
We got heavy in the front, medium in the rear, all new shocks and steering stabilizer.
So a really nice representation. You can see the hard to get stock chrome rims. The customer wanted the front lock house to be red instead of the traditional gold from Toyota.
Led headlights. Some rigid industry fall glides which are surprisingly really put out a lot of light and a custom roof rack that we built as well.
This customer did not want the full mesh screens, so I produced one without it.
Now let’s take a look at the inside. I have a Cruiser crap center console, which actually we really like it.
It’s got a lockable. It’s also got a hidden spot in the back for a handgun if you choose to do so.
It’s got a place to mount some accessory switches and buttons. It’s got a pioneer full-face screen, Bluetooth navigation, backup camera. He elected a nice aftermarket steering wheel; really looks nice.
Okay, let’s now take a look under the hood.
Chevy 53 Vortec custom aluminum radiator 34. All-new exhaust. It really gets up and goes. Really nice addition to these old Land Cruisers.
An aftermarket amplifier. This is the hidden tray that you can carry a weapon in or valuables, whatever, but you can’t access it unless you raise the top first. That will keep the guy in the back seat from pulling a gun to your head, especially your own gun.
There’s a nice subwoofer. Really nice all around Cruiser. Very proud of it.
We think the owner will be as well. Until next time. Thank you.
