When Did They Stop Making FJ40?

The Toyota FJ40, the iconic off-road vehicle, ceased production in most markets in 1984. Production of the FJ40 continued in some regions beyond 1984, with the last FJ40s rolling off the assembly lines in certain countries such as Brazil as late as 2001. These later models, often referred to as the “Bandeirola” or “OJ55,” featured diesel engines and were primarily produced for the Brazilian market. Nonetheless, the classic FJ40 as it is known internationally was discontinued in most markets in 1984.
