What Engine Is In The FJ80?

The Toyota Land Cruiser FJ80, produced from 1990 to 1997, typically came equipped with several engine options depending on the market. One of the most common engines found in the FJ80 is the 4.5-liter inline-six petrol engine, known as the 1FZ-FE. This engine is renowned for its durability, reliability, and smooth performance. It features fuel injection (hence the “FE” designation) and produces ample torque and horsepower, making it well-suited for both on-road and off-road driving.

In certain markets, particularly outside of North America, the FJ80 Land Cruiser may have been offered with diesel engine options, such as the 4.2-liter inline-six diesel engine, known as the 1HZ.

The 1FZ-FE petrol engine is the most common and widely recognized engine option for the Toyota Land Cruiser FJ80. It has earned a reputation for its robustness and suitability for various driving conditions.
