This 1989 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ62 is the one you build once and drive forever. Already past the hard part — a professionally converted V8 engine paired to a smooth 6-speed automatic transmission — this classic 60-series is currently receiving a stunning Desert Tan respray, one of the most coveted finishes in the Land Cruiser community. The big-ticket work is done. What’s left is making it yours.
Lockers give this rig unmatched traction on any terrain, while Old Man Emu suspension and an upgraded steering stabilizer deliver the ride quality and handling control you’d expect from a properly built Cruiser. Firewall soundproofing has been added to keep things quiet and comfortable on long hauls, and the mechanicals have been freshened to give the next owner peace of mind from day one.
Inside, you’ll find a refreshed cabin with new carpet, padding, and seats reupholstered in durable auto-grade vinyl. The original door panels have been preserved, heavy-duty rubber mats protect the floors, and a Pioneer touchscreen head unit with backup camera is available as an upgrade option. Outside, factory roof rails remain intact and ready for a rack or overland gear. Bumper configuration is still up for discussion — we can build out a custom front bumper with integrated winch and rear swing-out carrier, or keep it clean with restored stock chrome bumpers. Your call. Rigid Industries amber lighting and Grote LED headlights are also available options to round out the build.
