Are FJ Cruisers Rare?

The Toyota FJ Cruiser is not necessarily considered rare in the sense that it was a limited-production vehicle. It could be described as relatively uncommon or niche compared to mainstream SUVs.

Here are a few reasons why…

  1. Limited Production Years – The FJ Cruiser was produced for the North American market from 2007 to 2014. While it had a reasonable production run during those years, it was discontinued after 2014, which means no new models are being produced.
  2. Distinctive Design – The FJ Cruiser has a unique and distinctive design, reminiscent of the classic Toyota FJ40 Land Cruisers from the 1960s and 1970s. This design, while appealing to many enthusiasts, may not have had the broad mainstream appeal of more conventional SUVs.
  3. Off-Road Focus – The FJ Cruiser was designed with off-road capabilities in mind, and its styling and features reflect this focus. It may have been more popular among outdoor enthusiasts, off-road enthusiasts, and those seeking a rugged and capable vehicle for adventure.

While the FJ Cruiser may not be as common on the roads as some other SUVs, it’s not necessarily rare in the sense of being unattainable. Used FJ Cruisers are still available on the market, albeit with varying availability depending on location and market demand. Their unique design and off-road prowess continue to attract enthusiasts, contributing to their desirability.
